Klagenfurt, Austria

In June 2026, youth players from Voorburgse Rugby Club and Wassenaar Warriors (U14, U16 and U18) will travel to Klagenfurt, Austria to compete in a Rugby Sevens tournament at the United World Games. For many of them, this will be their first time playing rugby abroad.This trip is about much more than just playing matches. It’s an opportunity for personal growth, learning independence, and working together as a team, all while representing their club and community with pride. It’s also a chance to meet young people from around the world, build international friendships, and discover that sport speaks a universal language, creating memories and experiences that stay with you long after the final whistle.

About us

Voorburgse Rugby Club and Wassenaar Warriors International Rugby Club have enjoyed a close partnership for years. This season, our Juniors (U16) and Colts (U18) are once again competing together in cluster teams, creating an environment that is both enjoyable and challenging for everyone involved. At the same time, many strong friendships have formed among the players, and a strong bond has developed between the two clubs.Voorburgse Rugby Club was founded in 2015. After years of playing on temporary pitches, the club finally secured its own home ground at Groene Zoom in The Hague in 2023. Wassenaar Warriors, based in Wassenaar, were established in 2020. The club evolved from BSN Rugby Club, which was originally founded in 1976 at the British School in the Netherlands in Voorschoten.Our clubs welcome youth rugby players from U6 to U18. Families, players, and coaches come from all corners of the globe, including the Netherlands, the UK, France, Australia, and South Africa, creating a vibrant and diverse community. Together, we are united by the core values of rugby: respect, integrity, camaraderie, discipline, pride, and a genuine love for the game.
